Notes from the Back 1/13

Hope everyone is having a terrific week so far. It’s been good for me, but I have a couple things to bring to your attention…

1. First off, if you haven’t heard about the Twestival, you need to get on it. Your town has it going on, I am almost positive. I am booking bands for the Austin date, so if you have any ideas…let a brotha know! Or..if you have Brit Daniel’s phone number…that would be cool

2. 2008 is over and I promised to shake off the hate of 08. But this page is awesome…surprisingly Kanye West isn’t on it. Now you may be offended by them dissing one or two of your favorite people, but they slam the ones you hate!

3. I lied. I can’t publish this damn Hotel Cafe blog. I can’t do it. I get 2/3s in and then start all over. I can’t write about a possible demise of something that I love. I think that’s what it comes down too. Basically the question is…Can the Hotel Cafe continue to survive when the singer-songwriter trend is starting to fade and the biggest proponent of the genre and the Hotel Cafe, KCRW, no longer will be pushing the genre like it has in the past? That’s a long ass sentence.
